“Mountain-Pacific became acquainted with SoundMind Leadership the spring of 2021 when we engaged in a project involving the Leadership Circle Profile, and a coaching engagement with Steve Loveless and Darren Walker. After learning about the Leadership Circle Profile, we committed to engaging Steve and Darren to conduct profiles with our leadership team at the time. In addition, based on staff engagement survey feedback, we knew we needed to invest in our young professionals. I solicited applications for two 9 month long coaching engagements. Coaching of these two began and as a follow on, early in 2022, Darren and Steve led a retreat with my newly formed strategy team. Mindful of our budget, we committed to putting more of our leaders through a limited or abbreviated coaching engagement.
Recognizing the great benefits from the strategy team retreat; the abbreviated coaching engagements and the 9-month engagements, the board became interested in furthering its education around governance. Finally, after my announced retirement, the board engaged Steve Loveless to help manage the search process as the board navigated securing a replacement for me.
